On 6 December, almost all pensioners living in Schlenzer came to the Christmas party, which was held this year for the first time in the newly renovated large hall of the sportsmen’s home. 60 visitors were able to see what had already been achieved on the way to the completion of the multigenerational meeting place, how carefully, professionally and beautifully the large hall, the small hall and the sanitary rooms have been prepared. The head of the village and chairman of the village association “Bergdorf Schlenzer e.V.”, Reinhard Siebert, reported that a number of men and women from Schlenzer have worked more than 1,800 hours since 2021. The extensive material and the necessary work by specialised companies cost € 45,000 for the first construction phase, which has now been completed, 75% of which was financed by EU subsidies, approved by and invoiced through the Brandenburg State Office for Rural Development, Agriculture and Land Consolidation.
The pensioners sat together with coffee and cake, two brass players from the “Lustige Blasmusikanten Seyda” contributed to the cheerful and pleasant atmosphere with Christmas songs.
